A section of West Hollywood’s iconic Sunset Boulevard is slated to become a massive, free outdoor concert venue on Saturday, November 14, 2026. The City of West Hollywood has officially announced Live On Sunset, a one-day festival featuring headliner Sheryl Crow, a nine-time Grammy winner and inductee into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The event will stretch along Sunset Boulevard, closing the thoroughfare between Doheny Drive and San Vicente Boulevard to host a full day of music, local food, and unique fan experiences.
For Sheryl Crow, this headlining performance represents a significant return to her roots. The legendary musician played some of her earliest shows right on the Sunset Strip, building her career in renowned intimate venues like The Roxy and The Viper Room. Her upcoming appearance at Live On Sunset will also mark her first major performance since the release of her 12th studio album, "Pick You Up," which is scheduled to drop just over a month prior, on October 9. Crow spoke to the personal significance of the event, stating that the intimate venues in West Hollywood "figured out who I was as an artist." She conveyed that returning to the street where people first gave her a chance and listened makes her headlining role that much more meaningful to her.
West Hollywood Mayor John Heilman echoed the sentiment of connection to the Strip’s musical past. Mayor Heilman emphasized that the overarching goal of Live On Sunset is to bridge the street’s rich musical heritage with its vibrant future, suggesting an event designed to honor history while looking forward. To achieve this, the festival plans to showcase a dynamic, multi-generational lineup of performers. This approach ensures that both established stars, like Crow, and rising talent will be featured, aiming for an appeal that spans across different eras and musical tastes.
Beyond the stages, Live On Sunset is structured to offer more than just musical acts. The entire corridor of Sunset Boulevard within the festival zone will host various outdoor activations, creating an engaging environment for all attendees. Local food and beverage vendors are expected to be present, providing a range of options for festival-goers as they explore the event. These offerings, alongside dedicated fan experiences, are intended to create a comprehensive festival atmosphere along one of Southern California's most famous streets.
Access to Live On Sunset is free, allowing a broad audience to experience the day’s offerings without a ticket purchase. However, due to the anticipated size of the event and for logistical planning, registration is required for all attendees. The sign-up process for the free tickets will open to the public on Wednesday, October 14, 2026. Residents and visitors planning to attend should mark their calendars for this date to secure their spot. Further information regarding the concert, including any specific details about street closures and the full registration procedure, will be made available as the event approaches. This large-scale community event offers a unique opportunity for Southern Californians to engage with the city’s musical legacy and its contemporary cultural scene, all while enjoying a free concert experience on a historic stretch of road.
