The Beverly Hills Hotel, long considered an iconic luxury hotel in Los Angeles, is preparing to open a new supper club and music venue named The Supper Club. Slated to open before the end of the year, this 94-seat destination will bring a "dinner-and-a-show" experience back to the famous pink-walled property. Leading the kitchen will be Mattia Agazzi, the former chef of Beverly Hills’ Michelin-starred Gucci Osteria, known for its finely curated menu. The project is part of a decade-long renovation effort at the hotel, which is its most extensive since the 1940s, and involves interior designer Ken Fulk and music curator Alex Le Roux.
This addition reflects a broader resurgence of dinner-and-a-show culture across Los Angeles, rejoining a legacy of Hollywood nightlife. The Beverly Hills Hotel’s owner, Dorchester, which also owns the Hotel Bel-Air, appears determined to mark a new era for the more than 110-year-old hotel. The concept also aligns with a strong trend of live jazz and music venues opening throughout the city, catering to a new generation of passionate music fans. Historic Hollywood haunts, such as the Ambassador Hotel’s Cocoanut Grove, serve as a precedent for this kind of venue. Recent live music-centric openings like Cipriani in Beverly Hills and Somerville in South Los Angeles, as well as Hollywood’s Blue Note, underscore this shift.
Chef Agazzi comes to The Supper Club with a notable background, having overseen the Michelin-starred Gucci Osteria during its five-year run. Located on the top floor of the Gucci boutique on Rodeo Drive, that restaurant served a menu deeply influenced by Italian chef Massimo Bottura, of Modena, Italy’s Osteria Francescana. At The Supper Club, Agazzi plans to blend his personal affection for jazz music with an improvisational approach to food. His dishes will be served to patrons seated within a semicircle of plush banquettes, all oriented to face the central stage.
While the foundational music style will be jazz and instrumental pieces, music curator Alex Le Roux brings a varied background that will incorporate a wider array of genres. Guests can expect to hear soul and R&B alongside the jazz offerings, ensuring a diverse musical experience. This new, ritzy nightlife destination is set to infuse a substantial new offering into the storied grounds of the Beverly Hills Hotel, aiming to connect with the city's dynamic entertainment scene.
