Palm Springs is gearing up for its 40th annual Pride celebration, set to feature artists Aubrey O’Day and The Cowgays as headliners. The popular desert festivities will unfold from November 6-8, spanning both the downtown area and the Arenas District. This year marks a significant milestone for the event, which has grown to become a cornerstone of the Southern California LGBTQ+ calendar.

Aubrey O’Day, known to many from her time as a founding member of the pop groups Danity Kane and Dumblonde, will bring her distinctive sound to the festival. Beyond her musical endeavors, O’Day has a public profile as a reality television personality and has also performed on Broadway, showcasing a versatile career in entertainment.

Joining her on the headline bill are The Cowgays, a Nashville-based country group. This trio draws its musical inspiration from the sound of 1990s country music, offering a nostalgic yet fresh take on the genre. The Cowgays are comprised of members Adam Mac, Brooke Eden, and Chris Housman.

Officials have announced "Be Included" as the theme for this year's celebration. This theme, as organizers explained, is intended to reflect a clear commitment to fostering a safe and welcoming environment for LGBTQ+ people and their allies within the community. It sets the tone for an event designed to bring people together in a spirit of acceptance.

Jasmine Sullivan-Waits, executive director of Greater Palm Springs Pride, emphasized the long-standing vision behind the event. She stated that for four decades, Palm Springs Pride has been built by individuals dedicated to creating a space where everyone can feel authentic and part of something larger than themselves.

Sullivan-Waits further elaborated on the "Be Included" theme, describing it as a promise from the organization. She affirmed that despite any challenges, the commitment remains to continue providing a place where the community can gather, celebrate, be seen, and experience joy together, reinforcing the festival’s enduring purpose.

Attendees can expect further announcements regarding additional performers and a full schedule of events as the November dates approach. The festival traditionally offers a wide array of activities designed to engage and celebrate the diverse community it serves.
