The Oxnard Police Department is set to host its 11th Annual “Spooktacular” Trunk or Treat event this fall, offering Oxnard residents and community members a chance to gather for Halloween festivities and connect with local law enforcement and partners. Slated for Thursday, October 22, 2026, the event will run from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, transforming the streets around the police station into a family-friendly Halloween spot.
The gathering will take place on the public streets surrounding the Oxnard Police station, located at 251 South “C” Street. Attendees are encouraged to don their "festive 2026 Halloween costumes" and explore the area, participating in the 'trunk or treat' activities. This yearly tradition provides an opportunity to meet Oxnard Police Officers and various community partners, fostering local connections in a lighthearted setting.
While treats will be available for attendees, the department notes these are "while supplies last." However, the promise of "community connections/resources" is guaranteed, suggesting an emphasis on engagement beyond just candy collection. This approach aims to build bridges between residents and the services available in their area, wrapped in a Halloween theme.
Community members planning to attend should be aware of significant traffic adjustments in the area. Several streets surrounding the Oxnard Police Department are scheduled for closure, beginning at 2:00 pm and expected to reopen around 8:00 pm. Vehicle traffic will be diverted from these streets, and police personnel will be on hand to control affected intersections. Motorists traversing the area during these hours should anticipate minor delays as a result of these temporary road closures.
For those driving to the event, the Oxnard Police Department encourages parking at the Downtown Parking Structure. This facility is conveniently located at the intersection of Third and “B” Street, providing an accessible option for attendees looking to join the festivities without impacting local street parking in the immediate vicinity of the station.
This marks the eleventh year the Oxnard Police Department has organized this “Spooktacular” event, solidifying its place as a regular fixture on the city’s calendar. It serves as a consistent effort by the department to engage directly with the community it serves, offering a safe and organized environment for Halloween fun before the holiday itself. The event remains open to all Oxnard residents, continuing a tradition of local gathering and interaction.
