The absence of established talent means the focus will be on the understudies and those battling for a spot on the 53-man roster. Stetson Bennett is set to start at quarterback, offering a chance for fans to see him and Ty Simpson. Bennett has shown improvement during his tenure in Los Angeles, though concerns persist about his decision-making and ball security. For rookie Ty Simpson, his first NFL action will be a test of his ability to manage the offense, make proper reads, and deliver accurate throws.
The running back competition will also be a key storyline.
