The Other Art Fair is set to return to Los Angeles this weekend, offering its 16th L.A. edition at Santa Monica's Barker Hangar. The Saatchi Art-presented fair runs from September 24 to 27, featuring 160 independent artists who hail from 14 countries.
Nearly half of the exhibitors are based in Los Angeles, and 63 percent identify as women. The fair's roster includes painters, photographers, mixed-media artists, and printmakers, with works spanning subjects from sun-drenched Palm Springs to vintage airline nostalgia and saturated figurative painting. Among the artists exhibiting are Isabel Araneda, Ella Freire, Laura Porcelli, Kiara Aileen Machado, Leticia Lorenzini, and Xan Padron.
For those who appreciate a blend of art and country music, a special exhibit for Dolly Parton Day is planned for September 25. Titled "Self Made Icon: A Life in Rhinestones," this collection will feature artist tributes, all priced under $500. A DJ will spin Parton songs, the bar will offer "The Dolly Partini," and attendees can anticipate a vibrant pink theme throughout the exhibit.
This year's fair also introduces a playful element with "The Other Open: Artist-Designed Mini Golf." Three female artists have created three playable holes, transforming a section of the fair into an artistic putt-putt course. Suze Riley's "WeHo Neon Diver" draws inspiration from the well-known neon diver at West Hollywood Park. Isabel Araneda's "Reflections of Palm Springs" translates her pool paintings into a mid-century landscape designed for play. Heather Bellino's "The Blooming Vortex" utilizes organic shapes and a large sculptural flower to create a colorful, funnel-shaped course.
For a more unconventional experience, Adam Rose and Richard Hoffman present "TP Catalog—On Loan from The British Museum." This site-specific installation features gold-framed toilet-paper transfers that depict artifacts, some of which may have been acquired by the British Museum itself. Text from the museum’s own database accompanies the images, and a video documenting the British Museum heist plays through viewing holes in the stall walls.
The fair's New Futures program will spotlight L.A. artist Lisa Tse, who is the Fall 2026 recipient. Tse, a former graphic designer who worked for brands like Abercrombie & Fitch, Paul Frank, and Roxy, now creates vibrant oil and mixed-media paintings celebrating themes of strength, connection, and joy.
Beyond the art, four food trucks will be on hand, alongside cocktails, wine, beer, and nonalcoholic drinks available at the Fair Bar. On Saturday and Sunday, mu.sō Espresso Bar will serve coffee and matcha from a vintage BMW E30.
The Other Art Fair runs from Thursday, September 24, to Sunday, September 27, at Barker Hangar, located at 3021 Airport Ave. in Santa Monica. Thursday's opening night is from 6pm to 10pm, Friday is open from 5pm to 10pm, Saturday from 11am to 7pm, and Sunday from 11am to 6pm.
