Benjamin Deshon Provo, a former security guard for Donda Academy and Yeezy, tentatively settled a Los Angeles Superior Court lawsuit against Ye, formerly known as Kanye West. Filed in April 2024, the suit alleged Provo was fired in 2023 for refusing to shave his dreadlocks, which he wore for his Muslim faith. Attorneys notified Judge Brock T. Hammond of a conditional resolution, with a dismissal request expected by Dec. 21. Prior to the agreement, Ye’s lawyers sought dismissal, arguing Provo was terminated by Best Way Protection for leaving his post and that Ye had no role in the firing. Provo's lawyers argued documented evidence showed Ye ordered the haircut. No terms of the settlement were disclosed.
