As Eater LA reported, Mariscos El Muelle 8 opened a new brick-and-mortar restaurant in Downey on Friday, October 30. Jay Orozco, the owner of Mariscos El Muelle 8 USA, previously operated a food truck in Garden Grove in 2025 following the closure of an earlier Downey location.
The 95-seat restaurant features a full liquor license, big-screen televisions, and an extensive menu of cold and hot seafood dishes, including ceviches, aguachiles, and seafood soups. The business was originally founded in Culiacán in 2020 by the late Abel Martínez, a cousin of Orozco.
