The Coachella Valley’s Desert Town Hall lecture series has announced its speakers for the 2027 season, bringing a collection of notable figures to Indian Wells. The lineup for the four-program series includes political commentator Bill O’Reilly, constitutional scholar Jonathan Turley, tennis hall of famer John McEnroe, News Nation anchor Chris Cuomo, and retired four-star U.S. Army general Jack Keane.
The series is set to begin on January 17, 2027, with Jonathan Turley. A recognized constitutional scholar and author, Turley will examine constitutional principles and free expression. His program is titled “Free Speech, the Constitution and America Today.”
Following on February 13, Bill O’Reilly and Chris Cuomo will share the stage. The political commentator and the News Nation anchor are scheduled to discuss pressing national issues in their program, “The Future of the Country.”
March 2 will feature John McEnroe, a name familiar to anyone who has followed tennis. The hall of famer is slated to discuss his career, offering “An Entertaining Look at Competition, Success and Resilience.”
The series will conclude on March 30 with Jack Keane. A recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, General Keane will draw on his extensive military leadership experience to discuss threats and challenges facing the nation. His program is titled “America’s Security in a Dangerous World.”
All four programs will take place at the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort and Spa, located at 44400 Indian Wells Lane in Indian Wells. The H.N. and Frances C. Berger Foundation is presenting the series.
Tim Pyne, president of the board of directors for the Desert Town Hall, noted the diversity of perspectives scheduled for the upcoming season. In a statement, Pyne said, “For our 2027 season, we have assembled a remarkable group of speakers who will bring very different experiences and perspectives to the Desert Town Hall stage.”
The Desert Town Hall has a history of featuring prominent individuals from various fields. Past speakers have included former television host Larry King, former President George H.W. Bush, French explorer Jean-Michael Cousteau, and former con artist Frank Abagnale, among others.
Pyne reiterated the organization’s mission, adding, “This is what Desert Town Hall does best: bringing compelling people and important ideas to our community.” The announcement Thursday laid out the full roster, setting the stage for what organizers anticipate will be another season of significant discussion in the Coachella Valley.
